Peter R. Hill, ISBSG

 Peter R. Hill Master of Business Administration (Technology Management) La Trobe University. Peter Hill has been in the Information Services industry for more than thirty five years with broad experience covering a number of industries including manufacturing, distribution, freight and aviation, working in both Australia and New Zealand. Peter has been a speaker at conferences in Australia, China, Finland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Spain and the UK, and has had a number of articles published, covering key aspects of the Information Services industry. He is a past Chairman and Secretary of the Victorian branch of the Australian Computer Society and Director of Software Engineering Australia. Peter has compiled and edited five books for the International Software Benchmarking Standards Group: He runs courses on Project Management, with an emphasis on software acquisition projects and on the practical use of software metrics.

Abstract: The International Software Benchmarking Standards Group (ISBSG), provides business and IT professionals with information and tools to support performance management and governance for software investments. Peter Hill will present an overview of the body-of-knowledge now available to the industry, and its application to improve software development performance. The ISBSG, a not for profit organisation, now has more than 3,000 projects in its repository. This project history is being used for estimation, reality checking, benchmarking, architecture planning and academic research. Peter will explain what is available and how it has the potential to radically change our approach to project management.
