Paul Kuzan is the Product Line Manager for Together products for Borland in Europe Middle East & Africa, he joined the company at the start of 2003, following the acquisition of TogetherSoft by Borland. In his current role, Paul is a key resource for the sales teams and takes the lead for pricing policy, sales training and support for the Together business in Europe.

Paul brings over 16 years' experience in the IT industry, specialising in Java and UML, object-oriented analysis and design, and J2EE. Paul is an accomplished speaker and has presented many papers on his specialist areas at conferences, seminars and training courses throughout the UK and Europe.

In addition to consulting on many software development projects, Paul has been involved in the specification and provision of analysis methods, software development methods and systems support.

This talk will take a pragmatic look at all aspects of software development identifying recipes for success. We will investigate the strengths and weaknesses of popular methodologies and the suitability of full lifecycle tools. UML 2.0 and MDA, the latest offerings from the OMG, will be assessed from a practical perspective. Patterns, frameworks and component based development will we be investigated as ways to increase developer productivity and promote reuse.
