Web services provide the potential to solve enterprise integration issues and to do this with much less time, cost and risk. However, we have also seen that early versions of Web services often fail to meet requirements of "real enterprise integration scenarios"; they are too simplistic. What we need is Enterprise-Class Web Services, which support "Asynchronous", "Loose-coupling" and "Coarse-grained" communication. In this presentation, we take a look at the set of emerging enterprise-class web services and how they can be realized on a J2EE platform.
